Well I am past the week point! Yesturday I had the bandage contact lense removed which felt a little werid for a little time after but went back to normal after a while. Not really painful just, you know, like something was missing…cause it was.
The Doc also checked my eye and it had healed over well, he said. I then had an eye test and the Doc said my left eye (the one I had treatment on) was back to where it was before, which seemed good, I think, as I had heard it could take longer. I don’t need to now see him for three months, and then I guess I’ll go back to the usual yearly check ups on my eyes to monitor the left eye to see if the treatement works, and detect when it develops in my right eye. Sounds like there’s a very good chance it will from what i know of the condition (think its 80% of cases do, might be more), but don’t think it has yet. Well I say that but, when I had my first consultation with the Doctor who performed the treatment he was saying that from all the scanning machines and what not it indicated there is evidence to suggest it could possibly now be at the stage of developing but it is still debatable, but at any rate the vision in my right eye is still good, I think!
I’m down to just to drugs now. I have switched from the antibiotic eye drops to I think to a different antibiotic eye drop and I still have some anti viral drugs to take twice a day still.

hi,I just read your message, you give my hope, because my husban is suffering from keratoconus almost 7 years, he made crossliking in Spain last summer ,for his right eye ,he could not see clearly with it,and after 3 months of the operation, the doctor told us that the operation is success and that he could do for his second eye, but my husband is desperate, because every day he finds his vision get low day by day
I will do everything to support it.
i hope everything is working good for you.
where you made the crosslinking in which country?

David, it’s true to say that I feel inspired after reading your comments regarding ‘Cross Linking’ treatment and take heart that there is a glimmer of hope for those with the said condition. Apparently I was diagnosed with having kerataconus (in both eyes) twelve years ago and as a preliminary course of action – prescribed rigid gas permeable lenses. Undoubtedly, at the time there appear to be some improvement in vision, but over time I personally believe the condition and impaired my vision to some degreee to the point that I’ve even refrained from driving.
The condition is in mild format and I’m two levels short of 20/20 vision. I just wanted to know once you had the treatment, how far is your eyesight from 20/20 vision and how much of a difference would you say having the treatment made?
Good luck in your recovery and thanks for sharing your thoughts on the matter.

Hi Doyle, thanks for posting, I appreciate your comment.
The treatment isn’t a cure, as such, your eye sight might improve a bit after treatment but what it seems to do so far is stop the progression of the condition at whatever stage it is at. So if you had to wear glasses or contact lenses before you will probably have to wear them after.
I’d recommend making an appointment with a doctor that is doing this treatment, who can give you a more tailored answer to your stage of development with the condition. I think the eye needs to be in a certain range to have the treatment to be safe and effective.
Hope this helps.
